Lil Durk Says He Understands Why Kanye West Stays Away From Chicago’s Issues

After Chicago’s gun violence ended 2016 with 761 homicides, Lil Durk and his artist, Hypno Carlito, talk to VladTV about the anguish their hometown is going through. With schools shutting down and children being shipped to other school districts, the rappers say it makes it more dangerous due to the gang affiliations in those particular neighborhoods.

Further into the conversation, Durk opens up about talking to The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, giving back to Chicago, and hopes to have people who sit at his roundtable take what he’s trying to improve seriously. When asked if Chi-town natives like Kanye West could do more to help, he believes “The Life of Pablo” rapper doesn’t want to risk his industry “politics” and sees him doing more things on his own versus mixing things with “knuckleheads.”
