Brillo Talks on Doing 8 Years in Prison at 19, Signing to Ruff Ryders

New Ruff Ryder signee, Brillo, hails from Bridgeport, CT and sat down with DJ Vlad to discuss his rough upbringing and subsequent path to getting signed. Brillo talks about his experience being incarcerated at the age of 19 and how he literally grew up in jail. But it was Brillo’s rapping background coupled with the prison rap culture that got him serious about music. He breaks down how Ruff Ryder co-founder Dee, drove to Connecticut and immediately signing him and shooting a video the same day. On being signed to such a legendary hip-hop label Brillo said, “it pushes me… it’s like a dream.”
